FAQ

Questions, answered directly.

These answers match the product as it runs. They are not a promise of placement or of search ranking. See also the documentation and the deliverability guide.

What is email deliverability?

Deliverability is the chance that a message you send is accepted by the receiving server and filed where the recipient will see it. It is an outcome, not a switch in this product. Mailwright can show acceptance by your SMTP server and later signals such as replies. It cannot see a private filter's decision.

How does email deliverability work?

The sending server hands the message to the receiving server. That server checks authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), the domain's recent behavior, the list quality, the volume, and the content. It then accepts, delays, rejects, or files the message. Improving deliverability means improving those inputs, starting with authentication and the list.

Why do emails go to spam?

Usual reasons are missing authentication, a list with bad addresses, a sudden jump in volume, mail people did not expect, and content that looks automated or misleading. A single trigger word is rarely the whole story. Check the SMTP result and the domain's DNS before you rewrite the subject line.

What is the best email deliverability platform?

There is no universal best platform. Verification checks whether an address is worth mailing. A seed mailbox test, when configured here, reports a folder for those mailboxes. Neither one is a promise that every recipient will see the message in the inbox.

How much does email verification cost here?

Verification is part of the plan you choose, not a separate meter on this site. The free plan includes a limited number of checks. Paid plans raise that limit. The pricing page shows the current amounts for monthly and yearly billing. Yearly billing is a lower rate per month.

Is there a free plan?

Yes. The free plan activates without a card and includes a small monthly send limit, a small verification limit, one mailbox, and a limited number of campaigns. It is for a real test, not for a large launch.

What happens after I sign up?

You sign in, choose a plan, add a mailbox, and create a campaign. Nothing sends until you connect a mailbox and start a campaign.

How do I configure SPF?

At your DNS host, publish a TXT record on the domain that lists the servers allowed to send. If a mailbox provider sends for you, use the include they document. Mailwright does not write this record. After it propagates, send a message to yourself and read the Authentication-Results header.

How do I configure DKIM?

Your sending provider gives you a selector and a public key. Publish that key as a TXT record at selector._domainkey.yourdomain. The provider signs the message. Mailwright does not store a DKIM private key for you.

How do I configure DMARC?

Publish a TXT record at _dmarc.yourdomain. Start with p=none and an rua address so you receive reports. Move to quarantine only after reports show that your legitimate mail passes SPF or DKIM. Reject is a later step.

How do SPF, DKIM, and DMARC work together?

SPF checks the sending server. DKIM checks the signature. DMARC requires alignment with the visible From domain and states what to do on failure. One passing check does not replace the others. A message can pass SPF and still fail DMARC if the identity does not align.

Email verification versus deliverability: which do I need?

Verification tells you whether an address is worth mailing. Deliverability is what the receiver does with the message. You need verification before a campaign. You need authentication and list hygiene for deliverability. A verification result does not predict the folder.

Does Mailwright test inbox placement?

Seed mailbox tests can be run when seed mailboxes are configured. They report the folder for those mailboxes, not a guarantee for every recipient. An open pixel is not a placement test, because filters and scanners load images.

How can I monitor sender reputation?

Watch bounces, spam complaints if your mailbox provider shows them, and DMARC reports. A sudden rise in failures or invalid addresses is the signal this workspace will show you. Public reputation scores from third parties are outside the product.

Why are my emails going to spam even though verification passed?

Because verification and placement are different tests. A valid address can still receive the message in spam. Check authentication, whether the person expected the mail, and whether the domain is new or sending far more than usual.

SMTP or an API: how does Mailwright send?

Campaigns send through the SMTP mailbox you connect. There is not a separate public sending API for customers in this product. If the mailbox rejects the login or the message, the failure is stored on the campaign.

Can you guarantee the inbox or a search ranking?

No. Receiving servers and search engines make their own decisions. We document what the software does and keep the public pages accurate. We do not offer a placement guarantee or a ranking guarantee.
